Pete Denomme, formerly of Yowza! Animation, has announced the formation of a new company.
Switch VFX & Switch Animation is a new Toronto-based production studio focused on 2D-animation service work. The studio provides digital visual effects and animated content from initial concept development through to final delivery for Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Lionsgate, Disney, Nickelodeon, Teletoon, Dreamworks and BBC kids. Denomme will serve as CEO.
Switch is also currently working on 52 x 11-minutes series George of the Jungle—in partnership with Corus Entertainment—which will launch in September on Teletoon. The studio plans to roll out an initial development slate at the 2017 edition of Kidscreen Summit.
Additionally, the company is currently in pre-production on a Mexican animated feature in partnership with Studio Upstairs, is finalizing an animated opening sequence for a video game and has completed two versions of a CGI-animated commercial for Stride Rite.
Recently, Heather Walker purchased traditional 2D-toon studio Yowza! Animation from founder Claude Chiasson.
